Laura Pears is a Partner at EIC.
Laura previously worked for a well-established, boutique consultancy firm, where she specialised in assisting early stage companies through the authorisation process. Her focus was on analysing business risks and business models in line with regulatory requirements, preparing business continuity plans and preparing individual applications for approved persons. She then worked for one of the largest professional services firms in the country, focusing on in-depth Financial Crime reviews, often in conjunction with FCA regulatory visits.
Laura deals with adhoc compliance queries requiring application of the FCA Handbook, as well as conducting financial crime risk assessments, and reviewing financial promotions. Laura is also a part of the internal risk management team for the Enterprise group of companies.
Before moving over to Compliance, Laura studied Law, working in litigation before joining the Financial Ombudsman Service, where she worked on a varied caseload concerning a wide range of FCA regulated products, including private medical insurance and income protection.
Laura has completed the CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance.
