Appointed Representative Status
Becoming an appointed representative (AR) can be an efficient solution if you need to get your business up and running quickly. Being an AR allows you to conduct certain regulated activities, without needing to navigate the full FCA application process and tie up capital for regulatory purposes.
An appointed representative is a person or firm who conducts certain regulated activities through a firm that is directly authorised with the FCA. This firm is known as the ARs ‘principal’.
The main advantages of this route are that it is quicker than a direct authorisation, you will have independent oversight of your activities via the Principal firm and you are not subject to a fixed capital requirement.
Assigning us as your Principal Firm
The FCA authorised firm (known as ‘the principal’) will take regulatory responsibility for your activities and make sure you are complying with the FCA’s rules.
Our sister firm Enterprise Investment Partners LLP is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 604439). This means that we can act as your principal firm, avoiding the need to be directly authorised by the FCA yourselves. As the principal firm, we enable unregulated companies and individuals to begin operations quickly and efficiently.
